Texas Xtreme FC

Playing time Policy

Playing time issues is one of the biggest concerns and probably the toughest issues that a Team, coach and Parents may face. Below is the Clubs stance on playing time.

The Club does not have any policies stating that a player must have or be provided any amount of playing time in a game.

  • Playing time is and will be up to the coaches discretion at all times.
  • Players and Parents have the right, Under the 24 Hour Rule, to ask questions in a positive manner to see what the player can do to earn more playing time.
  • The Club nor the DOC will Interact or question the coaches decisions based on playing time Unless:
  1. The player does not play in two or more games
  2. Parent’s feel that the player is being treated unfairly.

Players have the right to ask the coach what he or she can do to earn more playing time. The Coach does have the responsibility to help the player to Improve.

Coaches are under allot of pressure to develop each player and Compete. They also have to make hard decisions during each contest to help their team to compete and have a chance at winning the game. These decisions are difficult, and sometimes a few Individual players may not get the opportunity in each game that they would like. Here are some factors that coaches must make decisions on.

  • Poor Performance

If the player is not performing at the level required.

  • Practice

Does the player train to Improve or have the desire to Improve.

  • Missing Practice

Coach sets the rule for missing Practice.

  • Game Situation

Does the Coach have to change the System, or the tactical situation?

  • Rules

Coach may have to enforce Rules which may affect a player’s playing time. Exp : Late to the game , Equipment , Missing Practice . Etc..
